NEW YORK, NY - Several recently released polls show President Obama's Appoval rating dipping below 50%, and his disapproval rating greater than his approval rating for the first time.

When President Obama took office his approval rating topped 70% on most recognized polls and Gallup indicated his disapproval rating was hovering at around only 10% for his first month on the job.

Now, following public outcry on his foreign policy, strongarm tactics used to push through an unpopular health care bill, and recent nuclear disarmament treaties, the President's approval rating has fallen below 50%.

Gallup poll's 3-day trailing poll now shows Obama with an approval rating of 45% and a disapproval rating of 48%, the first time in his term that the two ratings have traded places.

Other, perhaps more biased polls, show ever greater disparity.  Rasmussen Reports' latest poll puts the President's disapproval rating at 53%.

By comparison, among recent first-term presidents in their second year, only President Clinton had a disapproval rating as high.  In his fifth quarter, President G. W. Bush had an approval rating of 76%.
