S. L. GrzywaczMassena - Sandra “Sandy” L. Grzywacz, 66, 16 Spruce Street, peacefully passed away Sunday morning, February 7, 2010 at Massena Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health since June.

She was born July 20, 1943 in Brockville , Ontario, Canada the daughter of Joseph and Marguerite Garrand Mathieson.  Sandy graduated form Massena Central High School and business school in Syracuse.  She first married Anthony A. Perry in April of 1963, the marriage ended on divorce.  She then married Robert Grzywacz on November 29, 1986 in Michigan.  He predeceased her on March 12, 1995.

She was employed by DHL in Darien, Connecticut as Southern Border Business Development Manager.  She enjoyed wintering in Kissimmee, Florida and taking trips to Mexico.  While married to Bob, Sandy enjoyed boating while living in Michigan. She made it a priority to make memories with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed capturing these memories by scrap booking.  She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Sandy is survived by her mother, Marguerite, of Massena;  three children, Tony Perry and wife Marie; Lori Loffler and her husband Richard; and Susie Wood and husband, Lloyd, all of Massena.  Also, surviving are grandchildren, Joshua Sawyer, Matt Perry, Kristina Wood, Austin Wood, Andrew Loffler, Bryce Wood, and Paige Perry and greatgrandson, Kyler Sawyer;  two sisters, Cheryl Hoisington and her husband, Victor of Denver, Colorado, and Joanne Mathieson, of  Dunn, North Carolina; and many nieces  and nephews.  She will be missed by her beloved Yorkshire Terrier, Joey.

She was predeceased by her father.

Friends may call at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.  A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Massena, Thursday at 10:00am with Rev. J. Michael Gaffney officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Massena.
