Macey DemmonFINE, NY – Macey L. Demmon, age 91, of Fine, died on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at the Iroquois Nursing Home in Jamesville, NY.

Macey was born on February 23, 1918 in Hermon, NY to the late Gerald and Gertrude (Mandigo) Billings. She attended Russell High School and married Benjamin E. Demmon on February 23, 1935 at the Russell Methodist Parsonage with Rev. R.W. Scouten officiating. Ben passed away on October 20, 1989.

Macey was a homemaker. She lived in Russell and Hailesboro before moving to Fine in 1943. She is a member of the East Pitcairn Wesleyan Church.

Surviving is a son Ben S. and Teresa Demmon of Jamesville, NY; three daughters Patricia A. and Homer Smith of Clyde, NY, Barbara J. and Harold Powell of Port Byron, NY and Amy Jo and Rev. James Warrington of Macomb, NY; five grandchildren Juanita Smith, Laurie DeChick, Michael Powell, Anna Demmon and Alyssa Demmon; and 6 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and 2 step great-great grandchildren.

Macey is predeceased by twin sons Benjamin and Brian who died in infancy and a foster brother Charles Woodward.

Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2010 at French Funeral Home, Edwards. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the funeral home with the Reverends John Putney and Mark Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in the Hermon Cemetery.

Donations may be made in Macey’s memory to the E. Pitcairn Wesleyan Church or the Fine Volunteer Rescue Squad.
