On December 20, 2009, at approximately 3:05pm, Trooper David Worden of SP Syracuse observed a white Dodge Neon traveling west bound on I-90 swerving from the driving lane to the right shoulder.  Trooper Worden initiated a vehicle and traffic stop and interviewed the driver, Reanna J. Reidpath, 33, of Canastota, NY.

It was discovered that Ms. Reidpath's 9 year old daughter was the sole passenger in the vehicle.  Further interview with Ms. Reidpath revealed her to be under the influence of alcohol.  She was administered standard field sobriety tests, which she failed.  She was then given a roadside Alco-sensor test which revealed a positive result, also indicating she was under the influence of alcohol.  Ms. Reidpath's daughter was turned over to her grandmother, Maryann Reidpath.  Ms. Reidpath was placed under arrest and transported to SP Syracuse for processing.  There, she submitted to a breath test which resulted in a blood alcohol content of 0.20%.

Ms. Reidpath was charged under the new Leandra's Law for Felony Aggravated DWI/Child in Vehicle and Endangering the Welfare of a Child as well as multiple traffic infractions.

Ms. Reidpath was arraigned in the Town of Marcy Court before Judge Buttenschon.  Her bail was set at $5,000 cash/bond and she was remanded to Oneida County Jail.  Ms. Reidpath is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Verona Court on 12/22/09, at 5:30pm.
