Two Arrested for Possessing Stolen Property

ROSSIE, NY - On 12/08/09 at approximately 1:55 p.m., Gouverneur-based State Police arrested Michael J. Cook, 25, and Dustin L. Nier, 23, both of Antwerp, NY. When State Police attempted to stop the vehicle they were in on County Route 12 in Rossie, they pulled into a parking lot, and Cook drove his vehicle into the Riverside Hotel (Wegatchie Bar) causing damage to both the building and the vehicle. Cook and Nier were then found in possession of stolen copper.

Nier was issued a traffic ticket for no seat belt. He was also charged with criminal possession of stolen property 5th. Nier was released to return to Rossie Court on 12/16/09 at 7:00 p.m.

Cook was issued traffic tickets for uninspected motor vehicle, forged inspection sticker, no windshield wipers, no insurance, reckless driving, unsafe speed, and no seat belt. He was additionally charged with criminal possession of stolen property 5th. He was issued above tickets then turned over to the State Police in Watertown where he was wanted on a felony warrant.
