WATERTOWN, NY - Watertown State Police arrested Howard J. Obrien, 40, of Evans Mills today on a sealed indictment from Jefferson County Court.
Obrien was charged with one count of 3rd-Degree Grand Larceny and one count of 3rd-Degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property.
The indictment states that Obrien stole more than $3,000 while working in his capacity as the Evans Mills Fire Chief between 2003 and 2007.
Obriend was arraigned in the Jefferson County court and released on his own recognizance pending further proceedings.
