MORRISTOWN, N.Y. - Ogdensburg-based State Police investigated a two-car Personal Injury Auto Accident occurring on ST 37 at Chapman St. Rd., Morristown, at about 9:22 a.m. on Tuesday, 02/02/10.
Laurie A. Regan of Watertown, N.Y. was traveling north on ST 37 in Morristown when she observed an uninvolved Morristown fire truck with its lights and sirens activated attempting to make a left turn onto ST 37 from the Chapman St. Rd. intersection. Regan pulled off the east shoulder, slowing to a stop. The fire truck observed all vehicles pulling off the shoulder and initiated the turn.
Andrew Johnson of Ogdensburg, N.Y., also traveling north on ST 37 behind Regan, saw her pull off the shoulder, but did not observe the fire truck until it started to pull out and make the turn. Johnson took evasive action to miss the fire truck but struck the rear of Regan's vehicle.
Regan was treated and released from Claxton-Hepburn for minor injuries.
