Multiple Injuries in Canton Accident |

CANTON, N.Y. - Timothy M. Lamb, 19, of Madrid, N.Y. was operating a green 1993 Dodge Caravan and stopped at a stop sign on Pink Schoolhouse Road in Canton heading northeast. Roxanne W. Vaughan, 47, of Russell, N.Y. was operating a white 2001 Ford heading south on CR 25. Lamb failed to see Vaughan's vehicle approaching and entered the intersection. Vaughan was unable to avoid Lamb, and struck his vehicle on the driver's side, causing extensive damage to both vehicles.
Lamb complained of knee and left side pain. Vaughan complained of abdominal pain and a head injury from being struck by a can of paint during the collision.
There were five passengers in Lamb's vehicle, three of whom were juveniles, with the following injuries:
William R. Pitts, 17, of Canton, N.Y. complained of pain in his left side.
Christopher L. Lamb, 16, of Madrid, N.Y. was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He complained of back, neck, and leg pain.
Juvenile #1 was also not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, suffering a broken collarbone and hip, with multiple contusions and abrasions.
Juvenile #2 complained of pain in his back as well as his left arm and leg. He also suffered a cut over his left eye.
Juvenile #3 received a cut above his left eye.
All patients were transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital, where they were treated and released.
Timothy M. Lamb was issued Uniform Traffic Tickets for failure to yield right of way and for having passengers under the age of 16 riding without seatbelts. Both tickets are returnable to Town of Canton Court on 02/10/10 at 7:00 p.m.
