Deer causes Injury Accident |

OSWEGATCHIE, NY - State Police in Ogdensburg investigated a Personal Injury Automobile Accident occurring on State Road 812, Town of Oswegatchie, at about 5:53 a.m. on 11/25/09. Gary H. Laparr, 64, of W. Stockholm, NY, operating a 1998 Toyota four-door, was traveling north on ST 812, Town of Oswegatchie, when a deer entered the roadway from the east shoulder. He took evasive action to avoid striking the deer but lost control of the vehicle, veering off the east shoulder of the roadway, then striking and severing a utility pole. The vehicle overturned once, then came to rest in a ditch off the east shoulder facing south. The deer fled the scene. Laparr was transported to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center via Ogdensburg Rescue for complaint of shoulder and back pain.
