OGDENSBURG, NY - Ogdensburg-based State Police arrested Stewart Forney, 23, of Ogdensburg following a traffic stop in the Town of Oswegatchie.
Police say that Forney was driving a 2005 Dodge Stratus North on State Highway 68. A State Police officer, also driving North on Hwy 68, observed the vehicle approaching from the rear at a high rate of speed. Forney was clocked by radar at 95 mph and police say passed the marked patrol vehicle in a no passing zone.
State Police report that Forney was intoxicated when they pulled him over, with a BAC of .11%. He was charged with Speeding, Driving to the Left of Pavement Markings, Reckless Driving, Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, and Failure to Change Address.
Forney was also found to be possession of a multi-colored glass pipe containing marijuana residue and was issued an appearance ticket for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
Forney was arraigned in the Town of Morristown before Judge Phillips. Forney was remanded to the St. Lawrence Country Jail on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 secured bond. Forney is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Morristown Court on December 3rd, 2009.
