GOUVERNEUR – Allen H. “Al” Streeter, 65, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2009 at E.J. Noble Hospital, Gouverneur.

Allen was born February 1, 1944 in Chaumont, the son of Allen and Inez Sherman Streeter.

He attended various schools and then served in the United States Army from February 1961 until October 1964.

Al worked in several farms and milk plants before working for Antwerp Roofing and Flooring Company. He enjoyed reading and working on electrical, plumbing, and heating jobs.

Al married Jody Hutton on September 9, 1978 in Theresa. He was previously married to Helen Tibbles.

He is survived by his wife Jody, a daughter Laurie and Shane Murdock of Florida, five sons Michael Streeter of Gouverneur, Chris Streeter and his companion Kay Bohannon of Oklahoma, Allen R. Streeter of Redwood, Steven and Kathy Streeter of Redwood, and Dwayne and Tammy Streeter of Hammond, 8 grandchildren, a great grandchild, and two sisters Lillian Helmer of Plessis and Mae Hitchcock of Watertown. Al is predeceased by a son Randy “Bones” Streeter and two sisters Ethel Manning and Gladys Lavancha.

A funeral service will be Wednesday, November 11, at 11:00 am at Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur with Rev. James Warrington, pastor of Macomb Community Wesleyan Church officiating and burial in Hailesboro Cemetery. Calling hours are today, Tuesday from 6-8 pm and Wednesday from 10-11 am.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
