Police say that Kennedy was traveling eastbound on County Route 38 when he passed an uninvolved eastbound vehicle.  Police say that he returned his vehicle to the eastbound lane and then for unknown reasons, drifted back to the westbound lane and was struck head-on by a tractor-trailer.  The tractor-trailer was driven by Travis M. Perkins of Canton.  

State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit were on scene and are investigating the cause of the accident.  St. Lawrence County Coroner June Wood ordered an autopsy to be conducted later today at the Massena Memorial Hospital.
