CHICAGO (AP) — Colgate-Palmolive Co.'s higher prices have continued to stick, helping the consumer products company post an 18 percent higher third-quarter profit.

EDISON, N.J. (AP) — Real estate investment trust Mack-Cali Realty Corp. said Thursday that its funds from operations slipped 9 percent in the third quarter, as revenue fell from its construction and real estate businesses.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — Cancer drug developer Curis Inc. posted a narrower third-quarter loss Thursday due to greater revenue from partnerships.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Energy and utility holding company PPL Corp. posted dramatically lower third-quarter earnings Thursday as charges related to economic hedges and income taxes hurt its performance.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Regional railroad operator Kansas City Southern on Thursday said its third-quarter profits tumbled on lower shipments but it still beat Wall Street expectations and said business was showing signs of recovery.
