ALEXANDRIA BAY, NY - Alexandria Bay-based State Police are investigating a double fatality accident that occurred on the Middle Road in the Town of Orleans on Friday.

Police say that Joel P. Getman, 68, of LaFargeville, NY and his son, Duane J. Getman, 46, of Las Vegas, NV were both killed when they were ejected from their vehicle.  Police have determined that the vehicle was traveling northbound on Middle Road when the vehicle left the roadway and entered a ditch.  The vehicle rolled numerous times, striking a telephone pole and several trees.  Neither man was wearing a seatbelt at the time.

Police say that they are still investigating both the cause of the accident and the details, including which man was driving the vehicle at the time.  They are requesting that anyone with information regarding the accident contact the State Police at 315-482-5011.
