Police Say He Was Smoking Pot When They Stopped Him |

ALEXANDRIA BAY, NY - Alex Bay based State Police arrested Matthew S. Owens, 22, of Beaver Dams, NY on Friday.State Police say that they observed Owens following another vehicle too closely on State Route 37 in the Town of Theresa Friday evening. When they pulled him over, Troopers report that Owens sucked down a marijuana blunt in order to stop police from finding it. Police also say that Owens had smoked marijuana 40 minutes earlier as well. He was ticketed for Following Too Closely and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. Owens was issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Theresa Court on November 10th, 2009.
