 ALEXANDRIA BAY, NY - State Police based in Alexandria Bay arrested 29-year-old Canadian Kien D. Nguyen Monday as he tried to enter the United States at the Thousand Islands Port of Entry on Wellesley Island.
Police say that during a routine secondary inspection by US Customs and Border Protection, Nguyen was found to be in possession of a prescription pill bottle containing Ecstasy (MDMA). Customs agents turned Nguyen over to State Police who arrested him and brought him to the Town of Orleans Court where he was arraigned and pled guilty to the charge of 7th-Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. Nguyen paid a $420 fine and was returned to the custody of US Customs and Border Protection.
