James R. PetrieJames R. Petrie, 45, of Macomb, died Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley after battling lung and throat cancer for a year. 

James was born on November 12, 1963 in Watertown, NY to Robert M. and Sandra T. (Tulley) Petrie of Macomb. He attended Gouverneur Central School. A marriage to Cynthia Crawn ended in divorce. James was a self employed general laborer. He enjoyed working on model airplanes and cars. He also enjoyed hunting. 

Surviving besides his parents are two sons James R. Petrie Jr. of N. Gouverneur and Justin R. Petrie of Macomb; three brothers William G. Petrie of Gouverneur, Lonny S. and Heidi Petrie of Brasie Corners and Robert M. Petrie Jr. of Hammond; three sisters Sherry L. and Sam Parker of Brasie Corners, Robyne M. Petrie-Platt of Brasie Corners and Candace A. Petrie of Dekalb Jct.; brothers-in-law Robert Thomas of Heuvelton and Michael Platt of Redwood; he also had a cousin who grew up with them Lorraine D. Tulley of Brasie Corners. 

There will be open calling hours from 12:00-8:00pm at the family’s home on 6 Bailey Rd., Hammond, NY today, October, 9th, 2009.  There will be no funeral service.  

Arrangements are with French Funeral Home, Gouverneur.
