Denise M. Dumas, 54, of Oswegatchie, died Monday, October 05, 2009 at her home under the loving care of her family and St. Lawrence Valley Hospice. 

Denise was born on May 24, 1955 in Star Lake, NY to the late Arlo Harris and Jean (Daniels) Harris of Oswegatchie. She graduated from Clifton-Fine Central School in 1973. Denise married Alton A. Dumas on June 30, 1973 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Newton Falls. She was a custodian at the Clifton-Fine Central School and also was a cafeteria worker there. She worked there for 14 years retiring in 2007.  

Denise enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, crocheting, knitting and sewing. She also loved her horses and camping and sitting on the porch drinking coffee. 

She is survived by her husband of Oswegatchie; her mother Jean Harris of Oswegatchie; a son Brad A. Dumas and his companion Lisa Morrow of Oswegatchie; a daughter Angela J. Dumas of Star Lake and a brother and sister-in-law Arlo and Veronica Harris of Milton, FL. 

Calling hours will be on Thursday, October 8^th from 3-5pm and 7-9pm at French Funeral Home Inc., Edwards. The funeral service will be on Friday at 11:00am at the funeral home with Deacon Philip Giardino officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Fine.
