RICHVILLE – Eugene “Gene” Hendricks, 67, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at his home under the care of family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 3 at 1:00 pm at the Green Funeral Home, Hermon with Ralph Hastings officiating and burial in Hermon Cemetery. Calling hours are today, Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm.

Gene was born September 5, 1942 in Canton, the son of Clifford and Lila Woods Hendricks. He graduated from Hermon–DeKalb Central School and then Clarkson College of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree. He was a dairy farmer many years in Hermon and worked at Clarkson University since 1983.

Gene married Dianne DeWitt on November 27, 1971 in Hermon.

Spending time with family, fishing, and computers were among his hobbies. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #500, Tau Beta Pi Electrical Engineering Society, and held offices in Empire Hermon #68 O.E.S.

Mr. Hendricks is survived by his wife Dianne, 4 sons David and Rita of Westfield, IN, Robert of Saranac Lake, Mark and Meghan of Schenectady, Michael and fiancé Carla Tierney of Boston, MA, 3 daughters Deborah and Kory Klix of Yulee, FL, Penny and Joe Greco of Newark, NY, Susan and Josh Tappan of Burlington, VT, his father Clifford Hendricks of Bigelow, ten grandchildren , a great grandchild, a sister Sharon Billings of Edwards, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Lila Hendricks.
