On August 5, 2009, the New York State Police,
the Franklin County Narcotics/Border Task Force, the Malone Police
Department and the Franklin County District Attorney’s Office concluded
a long term investigation into the illegal sale of drugs in the
Franklin County area. Arrest warrants were served on several subjects
involved in the illegal sale of cocaine, marijuana, and prescription
medication.
The following subjects were
arrested on various charges relating to the sale of controlled
substances and/or marijuana: 1. COREY L. RUSSELL, age 30, Dickinson Center, NY Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (Class B Felony) Criminal Sale of Marijuana 3rd degree (Class E Felony) – 2 Counts Arraigned in Town of Dickinson Court and remanded to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail or $15,000 bond 2. RONALD A. LaCROIX, age 49, Constable, NY Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 4th degree (Class C Felony) Arrested
on Franklin County Court warrant of arrest; remanded to Franklin County
Jail without bail, pending County Court arraignment 3. TAMMY WELLS, age 34, St Regis Falls, NY Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (Class B Felony) Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 4th degree (Class C Felony) Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree (Class D Felony) Arraigned in Town of Dickinson Court and remanded to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail or $15,000 bond 4. TIMOTHY J. RHOADES, age 41, Constable, NY Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (Class B Felony) Arraigned in Town of Malone Court and remanded to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail or $5,000 bond 5. BRIAN L. WAITE, age 41, Malone, NY Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (Class B Felony) Criminal Sale of Marijuana 3rd degree (Class E Felony) – 2 Counts Arraigned in Town of Malone Court and remanded to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond 6. CAROL VANWOERT, age 46, Malone, NY Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (Class B Felony) Diversion of Prescription Medication (Class A Misdemeanor) Arraigned in Village of Malone Court and remanded to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $3,000 bail or $6,000 bond 7. KEITH HYDE, age 21, Chateauguay, NY Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (Class B Felony) Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 4th degree (Class C Felony) Arraigned in Village of Malone Court and remanded to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond 8.
