Hermon Man Charged in Bank Robbery |

 On August 1, 2009,
the New York State Police, working with the assistance Chief John
Kaplan of the Potsdam Village Police Department, arrested James E. Russ,
age 23, of Hermon, New York, for Robbery 2nd. The arrest stems from the
investigation of the robbery of the Community Bank in Hermon, New York,
which occured on July 21, 2009.
The
investigation was being conducted by the New York State Police, with
assistance from the Potsdam Village Police Department, the St. Lawrence
County Sheriff's Department, the Canton Village Police Department, the
New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and the St.
Lawrence County District Attorney's Office. Russ was arraigned before Town Justice Cathy O'horo, in the Town of
Canton Court, and committed to the St. Lawrence County Jail on $50,000
