Funeral services for Loretta E. Lalonde, 84 of Champlain Street in Ogdensburg, will be held on Wednesday (June 17, 2009) at 2:00 pm at the Foxwood Memorial Park Chapel with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating.

There will be no public calling hours. Ms. Lalonde passed away on Sunday (June 14, 2009) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Arrangements are with the Fox-McLellan Funeral Home.

Surviving is her sibling Sr. Eunice Lalonde GNSH of Ogdensburg; a brother-in-law Ronald Para of Ogdensburg; three nieces Susan Tooley & her husband Mike of Ogdensburg, Diane Para of Ogdensburg, Valerie Delarge of Raymondville; three nephews Michael Para & his wife Laurie of Rochester, Stephen Lalonde & his wife Kathy of Ogdensburg and Gregory Lalonde of Ogdensburg; and 11 great-grand nieces & nephews.

She was predeceased by three sisters Marilyn Para, Vivian Adams and infant Evelyn Lalonde along with a brother Stuart Lalonde.

Loretta was born on September 14, 1924 in Ogdensburg, NY, a daughter of the late Leon & Mildred (Williams) Lalonde. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and the Wallace Business School. After graduation, she relocated to New York City where she began working at General Electric. In 1946 she began her longtime employment with Mack Trucks Inc., where she was their senior accountant until January 1, 1987 when she retired. In 1989 she relocated back to Ogdensburg to be closer to her family.

She was a member of the Claxton Hepburn Medical Center Auxiliary, the Association for Senior Citizens and a Notre Dame Parishioner. She enjoyed making crafts of all kinds, traveling and spending time with her family.

Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Notre Dame Heritage Fund or the Claxton Hepburn Hospital Auxiliary.
