Okay, don’t get me wrong; I haven’t “dumped” Keith Urban by any means. KU is still my #1 county heartthrob. But Jason Aldean is hot on his heels!

Jason latest CD is Wide Open, so named because, says Jason, “Wide open is the only way I know how to live. When it came time to give this album a title, that track just summed it all up ... it describes my personality and attitude 100 percent.” The disc has already produce a pair of #1 hits: “She’s Country” and “Big Green Tractor.” And he might land another one with “The Truth.”

The truth is, the song almost didn’t make it onto the album. Jason says that he had just about completed recording the disc when he heard the tune, written by Brett James and Ashley Monroe. Jason immediately fell in love with the song and knew he wanted to cut it. He says it’s his favorite song on the CD. He thinks that anybody who has gone through a breakup can relate to the lyrics. He told TheBoot.com: “It's one of those things where you're hurtin’ inside and don't want anyone else to know. You don't want to damage your pride by letting your feelings out there too much.”

Jason doesn’t have to worry about getting his heart broken or his pride bruised anymore; he is happily married to wife Jessica. They have two daughters, Keeley, who’s six and Kendyl, who’s two. He declares, “There’s nothing cooler to me than being a parent. I’ve always heard that girls end up being closer to their dad the older they get, and I’m hoping that’s the case.”

With Thanksgiving coming up, the Aldeans are building their own family traditions. Jason says they fry a couple of turkeys and then watch some football. Additionally, Jason

will join forces with Tracy Lawrence for the second year in a row, for Tracy's annual Turkey Fry in Nashville, an event that helps feed the homeless.  Sounds like Jason is setting a good example for his little angels!
